Psychotherapy in East Oxford

While my work encompasses a wide array of issues, such as trauma, anxiety and depression, I have a particular interest in relationships, sex, sexuality and gender.

I work with individuals, couples and polycules, in my office in East Oxford and online. I work with both adults and teenagers. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming. I welcome people of all gender identities, relationship structures, sexual practices and orientations. I strive to be anti-racist and see this as life-long work. Whatever you may be experiencing, I am here to guide you through my therapeutic process, drawing on evidence-based techniques, together with deep empathy and careful attention to detail.

I have completed a rigorous, four-year postgraduate-level psychotherapy training at Oxford University. I have conducted academic research into how sex is talked about in psychotherapy, also at Oxford University, where I am now a guest lecturer. For over a decade, I have worked in a wide variety of pastoral and therapeutic roles. I bring this wealth of knowledge and experience into my work with each and every client.

If you would like to explore working with me, or have any questions, please get in touch, and we can arrange a brief telephone call to discuss practicalities. This call is free of charge and carries no obligation. Then, if it seems like a good fit, we can book an initial 50-minute consultation to talk in more depth about what might be right for you.

I practice using the psychodynamic model. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Masters in Psychodynamic Practice at Oxford University. I am a member of the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (UPCA), which belongs to the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a member of the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), and I am currently completing a Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy at Tavistock Relationships. I am in regular supervision and I hold professional liability insurance with Balens Ltd.

My normal way of working is to offer weekly sessions at a fixed, regular time each week, on an open-ended basis. However, I recognise that this is not appropriate for everyone. For this reason, I can also offer short-term work with a pre-agreed number of sessions (such as 4 or 6 sessions), or one-off sessions arranged on an ad hoc basis. We can discuss what would be best for you during our initial consultation.

Fees: individuals - £67/50 minutes; couples/polycules - £97/50 minutes.
